I began this painting thinking of our previous trip to the Bahamas, embracing the bright pinks, yellows, and greens. Today, Dorian has hidden those colors, like the white paint. But, I believe the Bahamians will rebuild and rise above what once was lost. I see their resilience and strength like bold, red lines that will fight for their home. Hurricane Dorian may have hit them hard, but they won’t stay down for long. To me, this piece symbolizes strength, power, and resilience in a time of hardship.
